FDI与区域经济增长:苏州赶超大连的例证分析

改革开放30年以来,苏州与大连这两个沿海都市经济之间经历了有趣的赶超,苏州赶超了大连。本文从FDI与经济增长视野切入,由表及里地考察与分析了这种赶超现象及其后面的因素。关联数据比较显示,两市改革开放以来的经济快速增长都得益于FDI,经济赶超与两市引进FDI规模变化的时间序列大体吻合。关键变量的尝试性分析显示,两市的资本对经济增长的贡献率均高于劳动,但FDI相对于国内资本对于经济增长的贡献则不同,其中大连明显优于苏州。考虑到FDI本身就是投资的一部分,它对两市经济赶超的影响就不能忽视。至于FDI之区域经济增长效应差异,可从两个地区FDI分布行业差异和国内投资实施的制度差异予以解释。

FDI and Regional Economic Growth: An Analysis Based on the Case of Suzhou Overtaking Dalian

Suzhou and Dalian experienced interesting race in growth in recent three decades of reform and opening up.Suzhou eventually caught up and took over Dalian in terms of either GDP or per capita income.In this paper,author checks a key factor behind this based on the analysis of the connection between FDI inflow and economic growth.The analysis on the related data shows that the two urban economies all benefit lots from increasing FDI inflow and there are close connections between the difference of economic volume and that of FDI attracted of the two regions.Regression analysis shows the difference of the two regions in terms of FDI contribution to regional economic growth.Author suggests that this difference might originate from the difference of the industrial and sector distribution of the FDI or the institutional difference between the two regions.
