| Abstract: | With the theoretic analysis, the paper presents the different means and forms of linguistic foregrounding. It explores the rhetoric effects it achieves and the different translation techniques employed in different types of writing. It is pointed out that in translation, the effects of expressions of foregrounding should be equivalent in both source and target languages when un-translatability is excluded. |
