The type of meeting between human beings and immortals mostly focuses on emotional pleasure, while the type of the arrival of fairies has a strong Taoist cultural colour, which is closely related to the Taoist preaching of Shangqing Sect in the Six Dynasties. Influenced by Taoist culture, there is a contradiction between secularization and sanctification in the story of fairy love in the novels. This contradiction is determined by the development path of Taoist love story, which originates from and returns to the secular world. It comes into being with Taoist worship and transformation of female immortals, and finally dissolves with Taoist secularization.
