英汉委婉语对比及翻译

委婉语是社会中长期存在的一种语言文化现象 ,本文从英汉语言特点及中西文化特色入手 ,探求英汉委婉语的差异所在。笔者在考虑到英汉委婉语不同的表达方式 ,彼此受到各自社会的人文属性的深刻影响 ,而且委婉语一般都同时具有本义和委婉义两重含义等种种因素后 ,提出英语委婉语的翻译对策

Comparison of English and Chinese Euphemisms and Translation of English Euphemisms

Euphemism is a long-standing linguistic and cultural phenomenon in both western and Chinese societies. This paper aims to expose the differences of English and Chinese euphemisms by comparatively analyzing their linguistic and cultural characteristics. On the basis of different modes of expression of English and Chinese euphemisms, the great influence of the humanistic attribute of English-speaking or Chinese society and the fact that euphemism usually has both the original meaning and the euphemistic meaning, the author puts forward translation methods for English euphemisms.
