| 摘 要： | 语言与文化有着十分密切的关系 ,语言是文化的一种符号。而委婉语则是反映文化的一种语言表达形式。各个民族的文化差异及其相通之处使得委婉语在内容和形式上也存有异同。本文试图从中西文化产生及发展的角度来探讨英、汉委婉语内涵上的异同

| Abstract: | Language is closely related to culture. Language is a symbol of its corresponding culture. Hence, euphemism is heavily culture bound. This paper attempts to make a tentative analysis of the differences and similarities in euphemisms among China and English speaking countries from a cultural perspective. |
