论童话翻译的基本原则和语言风格

由于童话作品读者的特殊性,翻译童话时所采用的语言应当切合儿童的年龄、审美特点、接受能力和成长需求,必须强调可读性,译出童味、童趣,应当采取灵活的意译、进行归化处理,而不宜直译、死译,语言应亲切明了、浅显生动,而不是生硬、正式、晦涩。文章以Beatrix Potter的The TaleofJem im a Puddle-Duck的中国社会科学出版社译本为例,说明翻译童话时应遵循的原则和注重的语言风格。

On the Basic Principles And Linguistic Style of Fairy- tale Translation

Considering the specialty of fairy-tale readers,when translating fairy-tales we must take into consideration the readers aeg,their aesthetic taste,acceptadility and growth needs,emphasize the readability of translated works and retain therir original flavor and interest,Thos literal,word-for-word translation should give place to liberal,domesticating translation,and formal,ambiguous expressions should be replaced by a colloquial,intimate and transparent style.Taking the translation of The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duckas an examople,this paper expounds principles and linguistic style in translating fariy-tales.
