位处甘、青两省交界的河湟地区,由于具有特殊的地理条件和历史原因,形成了经济结构的民族分工与协作的社会现象。例如:汉族、土族群众多半务农;藏族、蒙古族同胞大多畜牧;而回族和撒拉族人民多喜欢经商。结果各民族之间形成了相互依赖的经济关系,为民族团结提供了牢固的基础。

On Division of Labor and Coordination of Nationalities in Economic Structure in HeHuang

Bordering Gansu and Qinghai provinces, the HeHuang region is forming a special phenomenon of division of labor and coordination of Nationalities, because of particular geographic conditions and historical reasons. For instance, most of the peasants of Han and Tu Nationalities are engaged in farming; people of Zang Nationality and part of Tu Nationality are engaged in raising livestock; people of Hui and Sala Nationalities Like to go in for trade. So the economic relations are dependent upon common cooperation of different nationalities, which has provided the firm base for national unity.
