从东汉以前婆媳关系看刘兰芝的被休——《孔雀东南飞》悲剧原因新探

我们发现，从西周到东汉封建宗法制从产生就一直不断加强，在家庭中“姑”（婆婆）的地位日趋强权化，而“妇”（儿媳）的地位目趋卑弱化，致使婆媳之间地位悬殊，这也就使“妇”的命运完全掌控在“姑”的手中。这样，通过对《孔雀东南飞》的故事产生的文化背景的追溯性考察，发现刘兰芝的被休就是焦母为了维护和显示她的家庭特权，而使勤劳贤慧但不懂曲意逢迎的刘兰芝被休弃，这正反映了封建宗法制对年轻妇女的戗害。

That＇s how a wife falls into the complete charge of the mother-in-law. So according to the study on the cultural background of The Bride of Jiao Zhong-qing, it is obvious that the reason of the repudiation of the Liu Lan-zhi, who is hardworking and virtuous but does not good at pandering others, is that Jiao＂ Zhong-qing＇s mother, Liu＇s mother-in-law, wants to maintain and show her privileges to others. This is the very evidence that the Chinese dictatorial system of consanguinity mutilates young women.
