| Abstract: | The former studies of traditional defensive settlements are mostly confined to the physical defensive method of construction.This paper introduces the concept of psychological defense into the study of defensive system of fort-type settlements.Focusing on the two aspects of "spiritual sustenance of living safety" and "defensive effect of virtual image",it analyzes the functions and traits of psychological defense in fort-type settlements thoroughly,in order to enrich the defensible space theory,and supply references to create safe habitation in today's architectural design and planning. |
