| Abstract: | Beginning with the analysis of the Chinese traditional residents' courtyards' features, based on the research into the traditional courtyards' space, elements and spiritual connotation, the authors pondered over the actualities that the modern architecture was unable to inherit the traditional courtyards' merits. Combined with some practical cases, they have explored the feasible approaches for the modern architecture to inherit the Chinese traditional resident's courtyards and tried to find a new way to this inheritance. |
