On the Trend of Industrialization of Higher Education

Globally there is a trend of industrialization of higher education, which is theoretically based on the theory of human resources and industrial economics. Socially speaking, government,university and market have responded differently in the restructuring of operation mechanism through educational industrialization programs and proper governmental intervention to alleviate the financial crisis of universities and adjust the relationship between supply and demand of educational market. Internally, problems of property right, operational efficiency and market mechanism are so serious that reforming current university system is inevitable. Proper governmental intervention, zealous investment, clarification of property rights in universities,are the three trends of industrialization of higher education, which makes people rethink the nature and function of higher education, and which serves as the basis of new theory and new practice of reform in higher education.
