二语习得定性研究方法述评

在国外，应用语言学研究开始越来越注意到定性研究的重要性，改变了定量研究几乎一统天下的局面。在我国，定性研究也开始逐步得到应用语言学界的重视。本文在定性研究与定量研究方法对比的基础上，从哲学基础、过程、特点等方面对定性研究进行了深入的探析，指出定性研究方法为二语习得研究提供了非常有价值的手段。

Qualitative ResearchMethod in Second Language Acquisition Studies: a Critical Review

In the West, there is a gradual shift of emphasis from quantitative re search method to qualitative research method in applied linguistics. The near dominance of quantitative methods has thus begun to change. The field of a pplied linguistics in China has also recognized the importance of this research paradigm. Based on a comparative analysis of these two methods, the present pape r examines the process and characteristics of this research tradition from a phi losophical basis. It is our contention that qualitative methodology offers an im portant tool in the realm of second language acquisition studies.
