中国现代性建构的文化进路

现代性概念不应当是现代文明的另一个指称,它所指谓的只是现代文明的内涵或曰文化。其涵义有三个层次:现代文明的质的规定性;现代文明的价值理想;现代文明的生活方式。中国现代性建构作为问题,内孕着两重要解决的主要矛盾:其一,人的现代化与社会现代化的统一问题;其二,现代性与中国性的统一问题。本文着重讨论第二个问题。现代性与中国性之统一的要义乃是后发现代性建构与后(期)现代性建构的统一问题。后发现代性意味着中国性向普世性的现代性开放,后(期)现代性则意味着现代性向特殊的中国性汲取滋养,以创化中国性与现代性相融汇的文化传统(不是传统文化)之河。中国现代性建构,从中国性角度看,在文化的生活方式层面之指标序列上,主要要致力的是:非普世性的亲友社群与超越文化;普世性问题却很可能是非普世性解决的全球化与生态化问题。
