| Abstract: | This paper discusses the source and properties of the language faculty of the mind. The internal speech is the main medium of thought. The language faculty includes the inherited speech organs and the language system built up in the process of language acquisition. The internal language system derives from natural language, but the two systems have different properties. The patterns of neural distribution and connections are the physical bases of internal linguistic phenomena. |
