The Value of Seeking Truth and Being Enterprising vs. the Chinese Traditional Values

The dominating value of contemporary China is the socialist value of seeking truth and being enterprising.The implications of this value are: Marxism should be the guiding principle;the individualist interests and the collectivist interests should be reconciled with each other with human concerns as the basis and common people as the subjects of values and the evaluating subjects,the fundamental interests of the broad masses of people as our starting point and aim,so that we can eventually realize the goal of getting all the Chinese people to be rich;with development as our first urgent task,we should be innovative and enterprising so as to keep up with the times;we should impreach pragmatism and seek truth from facts;integrity and interests should be balanced,so should fairness and efficiency.The value of seeking truths from facts,as both an inheritage and a development of the traditional Chinese values,is a cohesive driving force which has greatly pushed forward the Chinese ideological liberation and the cause of China's reform and opening to the outside world.
