快乐的双重含义——伊壁鸠鲁的快乐伦理学

伊壁鸠鲁的伦理哲学一般被称为感觉哲学、享受哲学或快乐哲学。一方面，伊壁鸠鲁把感官快适视为人生的目的，提倡充分享受生活。另一方面，他又主张真正的快乐乃是用理性限制欲望蔓延所带来的痛苦。他的伦理学实际上仍是对亚里士多德伦理学的继承。伊壁鸠鲁是想通过传播自己的伦理学理论来直接面对他的时代问题。然而，伊壁鸠鲁主义却成了追求享乐的代名词。

The Two Meanings of Pleasure——The Ethics of Epicurus

It is generally believed that the ethics of Epicurus is egoistic hedonism.On the one hand,Epicurus considered seeking pleasure as the highest goodness of human beings and believed that all pleasure was based on satisfying one's desires of sensory organ.On the other hand,he valued a kind of static pleasure which means checking all the desires and pleasures with our reason.Epicurus' ethics have something very similar with Aristotle's.I think Epicurus' aim is to solve some serious problem of his times by spreading his ethics.However,epicureanism means pursuing the pleasure of sensory organ today.
