世界私学源远流长,从四大文明古国到当今工业发达国家,私学的发展完全是建立在社会进步与民族盛衰的历史上。通过对当代私学蓬勃发展和成效显著的若干有代表性国家进行比较研究,以及对国家私学观、现代大学理念、大学自治与学术自由、国际化与全球化、人力资本理论和可持续发展等方面的探讨,以期对中国私学的重建和发展有所启示。

Status Quo and Enlightenment:Private Education on Foreign Lands

Private education in the world has witnessed a long history of development in countries like the four ancient civilizations of China,India,Egypt and Babylon and the developed industrial powers of today.Its growth has been fully dependent on social developments and the rise and fall of a nation.This essay intends to examine and compare some representative countries where private education has been booming and is very efficient,then draws on insights concerning the state attitude towards private education,perspective on today's college education,self-management and academic freedom at a university,internationalization and globalization,the theory on manpower capital and sustainability as well,in the hope that these experiences may serve as enlightenment for the rebuilding and growth of private education in China.
