| 摘 要： | 各民族由于生活地域、社会、历史发展等差异,形成各民族自身的生活习俗、宗教信仰、文化背景等,由此使语言产生不同的民族特色,而习语可以说集中体现了语言的民族性.英汉两种语言中都有大量这样的习语,因而在理解和翻译英语习语时,要从英语民族的文化特征出发,要学会灵活变通,不能生搬硬套,否则会造成误解.

| Abstract: | Every nation has its own customs,religious beliefs,cultural backgrounds,etc.due to geographical,social and historical differences,which provide different languages with different national characteristics.It can be safely said that idioms of languages carry most of the characteristics and it is advisable that English idioms are understood and translated not only literally,but more importantly,culturally in order to avoid misunderstanding. |
