Students' consciousness raising and their development of grammar capacity

Bruner argues that students are not passive receivers but active learners.His theory of percep-tion and categorization contributes to the cognitive learning theory,which emphasizes surpassing given information.This paper attempts to apply Bruner's cognitive learning theory from the perspective of grammar teaching,putting forward that grammar consciousness raising helps students make good use of their cognitive capacity,surpassing given rules,constructing their own grammar ability and promoting communicative language competence.
