The Formation and Development of Xuan Xue in the Period of the Wei and Jin Dynasties

The period of the Wei and Jin Dynasties was very important to the formation and development of Xuan Xue(a mystical school of Taoism). The development of Xuan Xue promoted the current of the school of Lao Zi and Zhuang Zi instead of the traditional position of the study of Confucian classics. The conflict between the Taoist naturism and the Confucian ethical code reflected from ideology to real political life inevitably. The essence of Xuan Xue in the period of the Wei and Jin Dynasties was the contradiction and the unity between the Taoist naturism and the Confucian ethical code.
