Vertical Coalitionai Game in the Fuel Market of Generating Electricity by Straw

Given that the scale development of biomass power plants requires the participation of straw collecting and storing enterprises, this paper applies the game theory to analyze the impacts on the earnings of the vertical strategic coa-lition consisting of the straw-burning power plant and the straw collecting and storing enterprise based on the leader-par-ticipation model. It points out that the formation of the vertical strategic coalition between the downstream straw-burning power plants and the upstream straw collecting and storing enterprises not only ensures the sustainable supply of straw to the biomass power plant, but also increases the earnings of the power plant and the straw collecting enterprise respective-ly, thus boosting the total economic results of the vertical strategic coalition. Moreover, the paper deduces the conditions to be satisfied for the existence of the effective strategic coalition, and conducts a case study by analyzing the data from a certain straw power plant.
