Seeking Truth from Facts Is the Essence of Marxism--On Deng Xiaoping's new contributions to Marxist theory of seeking truth from facts

Based on the theory that seeking truth from facts is the essence of Marxism, this paper has a systematic discussion that seeking truth from facts is the common essence of both Marxism and Mao Zedong Thought. Also this paper emphasizes that Comrade Deng Xiaoping inherited and developed Marxism and Mao Zedong Thought under the new historical conditions, and gave the theory of seeking truth from facts a new meaning. After fully affirming Deng Xiaoping' new contribution to Marxist theory of seeking truth from facts, this paper further points out that his new contribution is of great theoretical and practical importance to the initiation of socialist theory with Chinese characteristics, the implementation of policies of reform and opening up and the successful advancement of socialist modernization.
