Literary Pragmatics: New Trend of Literary Criticism——Tentative Analysis of Agatha Christian's Murder on the Orient Express

With the development of pragmatics, many important theories of pragmatics were successfully applied to literature criticism, and then a new interdisciplinary subject was founded--Literary Pragmatics. Literary pragmatics is the combination of literary theory and pragmatic theory. Many pragmatic theories and approaches displayed great vitality in literary criticism and which in turn poured a precious and new vigor into the contemporary literature criticism. Agatha Christian wrote many detective novels and Murder on the Orient Express is a typical one, which even put into film several years ago. This paper aims to analyze some of its conversations and point a new way for the contemporary literary criticism.
