The content of Wang Anshi' s reform is very extensive. The reform on military policies is an important one. A series of its reform measures such as disarmament, appointing generals, militia, raising horses and armaments system played an active part in consolidating the feudalism government of the landlord class,in reversing the unfavourable situation in which North Song Dynasty frequently failed in fighting against Xixia and Lao.
