从王国维的美学思想看中西美学会通的可能与途径

在中西美学会通这个议题上，大致有两种态度：一是当看到我们所使用和接受的知识、术语大都来自于西方世界，就感到“很丢脸”，然后抛出“失语”之论，这在数年前曾引起热议；二是认为东西是老祖宗的好，但是比起西方美学对我国的影响来看，西方却不怎么接受我们的影响，就认为我们老祖宗的好东西是根本翻译不了的，比如“风骨”就会翻译成“大风”和“骨头”，如此等等。在我看来，中西美学会通只是一种方法，或者手段，或者更准确地说是提供了学术史的角度，其目的是美学知识或文艺学知识中的“问题”。简单地说，就是在进行美学研究的时候，我们所掌握的中西美学知识都会成为思考与借鉴的材料，而且应该尽可能宽广与深入地掌握这一材料，因为今天我们面对的并不是学术史上的洪荒时代，前人所做的一切理应成为今天学术研究的起点，这是治学必备的素质。这就是说，“问题”才是核心，“地域特色”并不是问题。
