摘    要:从 2 0 0 0届本科生开始 ,石油大学英语课实行大班授课体系 ,这是该校教学改革的新课题。改善英语大班课堂教学的前提和关键就是发挥学生的主体作用。具体做法就是以交际为目的 ,以学生为中心、培养学生自学能力、注重个体参与、解决分组操练、建立融洽的师生关系 ,提出了改善英语大班课堂教学的新路子和新举措。同时从实际出发 ,列举了新的教学模式的良好效果。

Abstract:To break with quite a few conventions of traditional foreign language teaching methodology targeted at handling the confronted problem of heterogeneous English class,a "communication-aimed and student-centered" new concept should be cherished and the "student-centered topic-based approach" implemented.The new approach and the mate bood New College English accompanied by a series of feasible in-class activities serve as effective means to cultivate the comprehensivve abilities of mastering English language,as has been confirmed by approximately three years of teaching practice in University of Petroleum.
