Institution:Originally from Switzerland and has worked for the National Health Service, the Dundee College of Technology and the Swiss Pharmaceutical Industry. He was Professor of Pharmaceutical and Health Statistics at University College London from 1995 to 2003 and now holds a chair in statistics at Glasgow University. His book, Dicing with Death;, is published by Cambridge University Press.
Abstract:How bad is big pharma? An American medical journal has taken draconian measures to vet analyses of clinical trials sponsored by the pharmaceutical industry. Are their statistics so bad? Stephen Senn has a look at the controversy.
