On the Formation and Characteristics of Literary Theory

Literary theory is the theory systematically expounding the nature, characteristics, and analysis approach of literature. "What is literature" is the core of literary theory, spreading and penetrating. Literature is "a kind of interesting words", as well as the "signalization" and "synthesis". The study on literary theory has two kinds of understanding modes: structural and categorical. The existent appearances are various: being science, being the history of thoughts, being the language of ideology, and being the method of literary theory. The present literary theory should be "integrative and innovative".
