文化·操纵·翻译的暴力

从文化的视角来研究翻译可以给我们更开阔的视野,使我们认识到翻译不仅仅是文本的转化,还体现着文化的操纵和翻译的暴力。从译者的文化身份、翻译对文化身份的塑造、翻译的流向,以及翻译的策略四个方面来探讨,发现翻译过程中不可避免地存在着操纵和暴力,但文化交流是不可阻挡的历史潮流,在文化交流中,最佳的状态是交流各方达到“共赢状态”,译者在这一过程中,不仅要转换语言,而且肩负着跨文化传通的任务。

Translation research from the cultural perspective can broaden our horizon and thus make us realize that translation does not only mean the transformation of texts,it also embodies cultural manipulation and violence of translation.This paper approaches culture,manipulation and violence of translation from four aspects,namely the translator's cultural identity,the formation of cultural identity in the course of translation,the flow of translation,and translation strategies.The awareness of violence of translation does not mean that the parties concerned should build a "wall" to block the communication between different cultures.On the contrary,cultural communication is a historical trend that no one can stop.The best state in the cultural communication is the win-win situation in which all parities concerned gain.In this process,translators have an important role to play: they not only effect language transfer,but also shoulder the responsibility of ensuring smooth and successful cross-cultural communication.
