城市空间发展模式与经济发展--以近代上海与曼彻斯特为例

近代上海和曼彻斯特在海洋时代迅速从蕞尔小镇发展为大城市,上海是外部“人为地”强力推动的结果,曼彻斯特则是自然发展的产物。上海城区依黄浦江边的外滩为基地呈“摊饼式”向陆地推进,而曼彻斯特以放射状联结多中心的方式扩展;在经济功能上,它们分别以“多功能”与“单打一、专业化”出名。比较这两个城市的空间扩展和经济功能的变迁,探讨其成败得失的经验教训,对目前我国城市建设有一定的现实指导意义。

The Development Model of Urban Space and Economic Development:A Case Study of Modern Shanghai and Manchester

Modern Shanghai and Manchester developed from tiny towns to large and great cities during the ocean age within which Manchester came out naturally while Shanghai was pushed from outside.Shanghai sprawled from coastal line to inland areas just like making a pancake while Manchester spread out and pieced small centers together.The former has multifunctions while the latter is more specialized concerning the economic functions.These may have great help to current China's urbanization.
