本文从互文角度分析了著名华裔女作家汤亭亭的小说《孙行者》中对西方文化的引述,研究了作者如何引用欧美文学,剖析主流文化意识形态影响人们思维方式的作用媒介,以此来确定华裔文化身份的;在批判主流文化中华裔美国人的刻板印象的同时,作者也表达了她建立“西方梨园”式多元化社会的理想。

Breaking the Imposed Silence——Allisions in Tripmaster Monkey

This paper analyzes the allusion of western literary tradition in Tripmaster Monkey: his fake book from the perspective of intertextuality.It shows the functions the heterotexts play in Maxine Hong Kingston's work,the ingenuity she displays in integrating allusion in her novel to defy the stereotype imposed by mainstream culture and in raising the multicultural consciousness of American people to construct a society that recognizes multicultural and multi-ethnical values.
