大学是"研究高深学问"的场所--蔡元培教育思想研究札记

蔡元培很重视大学的科学研究工作,提出了"兼容并包,思想自由"的科研工作指导方针,开创了思想自由的一代新风.他组织和鼓励学生参加科学研究,培养了学生的创新能力.当前,我们应该研究蔡元培有关科学研究的思想,丰富其内涵,深化高等教育改革,培养创新人才,以此迎接新的世纪--知识经济的世纪的到来.

The University as the Institution for "Exploring Sophisticated Higher Learning" --Investigating Cai Yuanpei's Educational Ideology

Cai Yuanpei always attached great importance to the university's scientific research. He proposed "comprehensive absorption and free thinking" as the guiding principle for doing scientific research, which contributed greatly to intellectual freedom. He fostered creativity of students by including and encouraging them in scientific research projects. At present, systematic investigation must be carried out into Cai Yuanpei's educational ideology so as to carry educational reform to its depth and foster students with creative ideas. Only in this way can we prepare ourselves for the challenges of the new century, a century of information economy.
