摘    要:隐喻作为语言现象和大脑认识世界的方式,是一种复杂的、产生于隐喻性思维过程的文化现象。谚语以概念隐喻为根基,是语言中一种特殊的表达方式。本文通过对汉英谚语的对比研究,揭示汉英两个民族的文化认知特征在不同民族的心理和价值观念的具体体现。

Metaphor and the Cultural Cognition in the Proverbs

Abstract:As a language phenomenon and a way through which the brain gets to know the world, metaphor is a kind of complicated cultural phenomenon growing out of the metaphoric thought. Proverb is one kind of special expressing way in language based on conceptual metaphor. Through the comparitive research upon English proverbs and Chinese ones, the essay reveals the concrete reflections of the cultural cognitive characteristics of both Chinese nation and English one in the aspect of different nations psychology and traditional values.
