An Introduction to Lao She's Researching into the Modernity of Literary Theory in His Earlier Period

In 1930s,Lao She deeply researched into the modernity of literary theory in his theory works including Teaching Materials on Introduction to Literature.He rectified the name of "wen shuo" in ancient China while emphasized that literary theory should be guided by the rules of science;opposed to misusing literature while advocated that the value of literature lies in its aesthetic pleasure;criticized the suggestions that literature is an imitation of the nature or society and that literature should restore to the ancient ways while paid great attention to the internal,not the external research in literature.
