Innovations and the effects of testing toward progress assessment in intensive reading

The development of society in this century under market economy calls for graduates of English majors with strong linguistic as well as communicative competence,which means the focus of class teaching should be altered from the development of receptive skills to productive skills toward our established goals.The present paper focuses itself on the progress assessment and testing system in monitoring students learning process in terms of the variables of the different ratios in students linguistic competence,creative thinking,communicative competence concerning different levels.
