| Abstract: | Structural ambiguity is a common linguistic phenomenon in English. Its causes can be examined along three dimensions: Phonetic, semantic and syntactic. Normally, structural ambiguity gives rise to comprehension problems, but it can also be put to positive use, and ambiguity may be eliminated through structural re-ordering. |
