Comments on Esthetic Ideals of Song-Dynasty Ci-Poetry Studies

This paper points out that Mr Zhang Huimin, basing himself onan adequate collection of related materials, published his work entitled EstheticIdeals of Song-Dynasty Ci-Poetry Studies in which he presented original ideason the origin, development, and characteristic features of rules and forms of Cipoetry, thereby bridging the theoretical gap lasting for some time in the histori cal studies of Ci poetry theory. Also, it is found that there exist a relatively en tensive cultural visual field, a distinct subject vision and the spirit of the time.
