洋务运动科举复兴的悲剧命运

洋务运动是晚清统治者寻求自强的一种努力,科举考试在这时也得以复兴,并迫于时局而进行了变革的尝试。但由于这时期的科举被赋予了化解社会危机的政治重任,晚清统治者企图以功能之需去强化科举,不仅没有因时救弊,反而进一步强化了清朝科举固有的弊端,直接导致了清末科举被废除的命运。

The Tragic Fate of Imperial Civil Examination Renaissance in the Westernization Movement

Westernization Movement was an effort of seeking self-improvement which was implemented by the late Qing Dynasty rulers.The imperial civil examination at that time also had a renaissance and had to reform by the force of the political situation.However,As the Imperial civil exam in that period was given the political task of resolving the social crisis,the rulers of Late Qing Dynasty tried to strengthen the function of the imperial civil exam to adapt for the regnant needs.This action had not only failed to improve the education system,but also it further reinforces the inherent drawbacks of imperial civil examination of the Qing Dynasty.It directly led to the abolished fate of the late Qing Dynasty imperial civil examination.
