Estimation of the mean of the selected population

A new class of estimators is introduced for the problem of estimating the mean of the selected population. These estimators are found by subtracting from the largest sample mean an estimator of its bias. The new estimators are compared with those introduced by Cohen and Sackrowitz (1982) and in terms of frequentist risk they are found to perform quite similarly.
