Abstract: | Two-stage (double sample) tests of hypotheses are presented for testing linear hypotheses in the general linear model. General and one-sided alternatives are considered. Computational techniques for computing critical points are discussed. Tables of critical points are presented. An example suggests that two-stage tests can achieve the same power as a fixed sample size test while reducing considerably the expected number of observations required for the test |
