| Abstract: | Following Chinese Tang dynasty, ancient Japan adopted the centralized feudal government system. This paper attempts to prove the fact that the imperial examination in ancient Japan was actually a subsidiary of its succession system and explore the similarities and differences of the government system between Japan and Chinese Tang dynasty from this respect in order to have a better understanding of the development course of the government system in ancient Japan. |
