太平洋战争爆发前夕 ,缅甸民族主义者在独立问题上采取狭隘的民族主义立场 ,选择了联日反英的独立道路 ,扮演了引狼入室的角色 ,英帝国在危难之机 ,仍顽固推行殖民统治和高压政策 ,酿成缅甸的陷落 ,中美英印联军和缅甸国民起义军为收复缅甸作出了贡献 ,由于英国把重返缅甸视为英帝国的延续 ,使英军参战具有双重性。

On the Issues concerning Burma during the Pacific War

Before the Pacific War broke out, the nationali st s of Burma took the position of narrow nationalism concerning independence and c hose the way of uniting with Japan while opposing Great Britain, which was in fa ct equal to opening the door to a dangerous foe. The British Empire during the c risis stubbornly carried out the colonial domination and high-handed policy whic h led to the occupation of Burma by the Japanese invaders. The allied forces of China, Great Britain, USA and India, together with the national insurrectionary army of Burma did much to recover the lost territory of Burma. Because Great Bri tain regarded its return to Burma as the continuation of the British Empire, the participation of the British troop had double significance.
