| Abstract: | Shakespeare lived in an age when the old feudal social and economic order was being destroyed and a new capitalist society was being born. In spite of the conventional prejudice against women, Shakespeare obviously meant to idealize the woman figure in his plays as a heroine of great beauty, purity, wit, courage, loyalty and devotion, which is full of realistic implications. |
