| Abstract: | Discourse competence is a combination of such knowledge as language, cognition of information and communicative competence.Through reading students are performing such acts as learning the English language, gaining information behind the language, and participating in some social activities. All this will lead to a common understanding of the social and cultural background and co-construction of a discourse with the author. Therefore, an educational function of the teaching of reading comprehension will be realized. |
