| 摘 要： | 委婉语是世界各种语言中的普遍现象。从词汇、句式和语用等三个角度对英语委婉语作了论述。结合“礼貌原则” ,重点从语用的角度来阐述了跨文化交际中常用的四种委婉表达方式 ,即“设身处地 ,换位考虑”、“回避忌讳词语 ,融洽交际气氛”、“善用温和言辞 ,避免正面冲突”、“善于提供台阶 ,保全双方面子”

| Abstract: | Euphemism is universal in all languages in the world.This paper discusses English euphemism from three viewpoints - lexical,syntactical and pragmatic.Employing the Politeness Principle,this paper elaborates on four euphemistic presentations in English in cross-cultural communication,which include"Be considerate of partners","Abstain from Taboos","Adopt softened words"and"Give partners an out". |
