水文化是一个民族基于对周围自然环境的认知与调适而创造出来的一种文化现象.它通常包括对水资源、水环境的认识与信仰,利用水资源的技术,管理水资源的制度这样三个方面.在这个有机整合的三元结构中,对水资源、水环境的认识与信仰处于核心地位,是一个民族宇宙观、世界观和价值观的重要组成部分,对一个民族水文化的最终形成及其持续发展发挥着关键的作用.曼远村的案例表明西双版纳傣族历史上形成的水文化,有力地保障了西双版纳数千年来人与自然的和谐发展,使其成为地球北回归线上仅存的一块绿洲.在全球水资源短缺、水环境恶化和水体污染日趋严重的今天,深入发掘并系统总结傣族传统水文化中所蕴涵的理性与智慧,对于当代可持续发展的实践,具有重要的学术价值和应用价值.

Tradition and Change of the Water Culture of the Dais in Xishuangbanna: A Case Study of Manyuan Village of Menghan, Jinghong

The creation of the water culture is based on people's recognition and adaptationto the nature. It often comprises three aspects: the knowledgeand belief to the water resourceand water environment, techniqueof use of water, and system of water management. In the integrated ternary system, the recognition and belief of water is the heart of the culture. They are important components of the worldviewor value of a culture and play a key role in the formation and sustaineddevelopment of their water culture. The case of Manyuan village shows that the water culture of the Dais in Xishuangbanna strongly ensuredthe harmonious development of human and the nature in the region for more than a thousandyears. As a result, now, Xishuangbanna is rare oasis in the Tropic of Cancer. When we face the global water shortage, water pollutiontoday, it is of academic and practical importance to tap the rational components and review the wisdom embeddedin the water culture of the Dai people to guide today's practiceof sustained development.
