斜晖脉脉水悠悠--小李杜关系考辨

在晚唐诗人中,杜牧与李商隐无疑是翘楚人物,通常被并称为“小李杜”。他们两人是否也如李杜一般有着深厚的堪称文坛佳话的友谊,还是一个尚待研究的问题。前人偶有提及,几乎是众口一词,都从李商隐的赠诗得出基本相同的结论。以其中比较有代表性的刘学锴先生在《李商隐传论》里的观点为参照,结合杜牧的生平及大中三年的时代背景,可以见出横亘在小李杜之间的一些心理隔膜。

The Sun also Shines while the Water also Flows

Undoubtedly, Du Mu and Li Shangyin are both the elites among the poets in the late period of Tang Dynasty. However, it still remains a question whether these two reputed poets held magnificent friendship. Owing to the two poems that Li Shangyin sent Du Mu, most of scholars consider them good friends like Li Bai and Du Fu. For example, Mr. Liu Xuekai's opinion in The Whole Research on Li Shangyin may be some typicality. My article plan to research this question on the side of Du Mu, trying to reveal the whole outline of the "friendship"of these two exceptional poets.
