China's Balanced Oil Strategy

China cannot expect to eliminate oil security risks only through expansion of supply. A balanced and sustainable oil strategy must set priorities and consider tradeoffs. It must balance the effort of increasing oil supply and preparation for the eventuality of interruption of supply,fostering economic growth and protecting the ecological environment,improving energy efficiency through reform of marketization and maintaining fairness and long-term stability.
