中国古典学本质上是以夏商周三代为代表的古典文明为主要研究对象的学问,分为古典文明与古典学术两个时期:以夏商周三代古典文明为本体,而两汉至清对经典的文献整理、义理阐释和考据证明学则构成了古典学术史的重要阶段。城邦社会是中国古典文明的社会空间;礼乐文明是中国古典文明的历史土壤;器物艺术是中国古典文明的证明形式;经典时代是古代文明发展的最高阶段,以六经和诸子为代表的文化经典是古典文明的独特书写形式。古典学的本质是接续古典精神,以复古为解放,激活人类生命和创造精神。

Classical studies is an academic concept originated from the West,and it has important theoretical reference and methodological enlightenment for Chinese classical academic research.In essence,Chinese classical studies takes the civilization of Xia,Shang and Zhou Dynasties as its main research object,which is divided into two parts of classical civilization and classical academics,namely,classical and interpretative classical periods:it takes the history of classical civilization of Xia,Shang and Zhou Dynasties as the noumenon,while the main content of classical academic history consists of the literature arrangement research of Han Dynasty,the philosophical interpretation of Neo-Confucianism in Song and Ming Dynasties,and philology of Qing Dynasty,which is known as textual research.The city-state society is the social space of Chinese classical civilization,the ritual and musical civilization is the historical soil of Chinese classical civilization,and the art of utensils is the proof form of Chinese classical civilization.The classical era is the representative period of ancient civilization,and the literary writing represented by the Six Classics and Pre-Qin scholars is a special expression of classical civilization.The essence of classical studies is to follow the classical spirit and seek liberation by retracing the ancients,restoring history,arriving at the scene,and activating human life and creative spirit.
