FILM ADAPTATION AS AN AID IN BRITISH-AMERICAN LITERATURE TEACHING

British-American Literature is a required course for English majors at universities and colleges. However, with the development of modern science and technology, the traditional teaching methods have been considered antiquated. The real-time and light-and-sound effect of film adaptation has proved to be effective in strengthening the interaction between audience and English original works. Through ＂reading＂ both of printed and visual texts, the audience can understand literature more profoundly. As an effective teaching aid, the application of excellent film adaptation is quite necessary in modern English literature teaching.
